To mark our 111th anniversary, we are delighted to unveil a new standard of reliability for the motor of mechanical movements, the azufix, at EPHJ 2025. The azufix is a new system for fixing and controlling the barrel spring. This innovation eliminates the need to adjust the barrel spring by deforming the cover, thereby reducing and perfectly controlling the movement.
The advantages of azufix construction:

The two-part shaft allows pivoting in the drum only. The swing is controlled by the Precise bung clearance on the axis rather than through deformation of the cover. Standard system (out-of-round from 15µm to 45µm) vs. azufix system (out-of-round from 5µm to 15µm). As a result, axial runout is aimproved from 30 to 50%. A housing is provided on the inside wall of the drum to guide the last thinned coil of the spring, thus containing the grease. This migration-avoidance architecture improves reliability and robustness over time.
The constant quest by watch brands to improve the performance and reliability of their watches led us to develop and perfect this new solution to meet this requirement.
Tests have demonstrated the reliability of this solution. The cylinders were subjected to an accelerated aging protocol. The azufix system can be adapted to existing buildings and integrated into new projects.
This innovative technology, azufix, has been patented twice by azurea.
