Micronora 2026

Azurea Microtechnique, Swiss precision for aerospace applications.

From September 29 to October 2, 2026, Besançon will host the new edition of Micronora, the international trade fair for microtechnology, precision, and nanotechnology.

Focused on precision, miniaturization, and the integration of complex functions, this event will bring together players from demanding sectors—aerospace, medical devices, luxury goods, telecommunications—around a shared challenge: manufacturing ever smaller, more reliable, and more precise products.

Azurea Microtechnique will be present there, Hall B1, aisle 4, booth 402, to showcase its expertise to aerospace industry players looking for a machining partner capable of holding tolerances where guesswork has no place.

sectors where the micron makes a difference

In aerospace, every onboard component must meet absolute reliability requirements: resistance to vibrations and thermal variations, complete traceability, and dimensional repeatability over long production runs.

A clearance of just a few microns on a guide rail or bearing can be enough to compromise the accuracy of a navigation instrument or the lifespan of a mechanism. This is a field in which Swiss microtechnology, historically shaped by precision watchmaking, provides a natural answer.

Our expertise and services tailored for critical components

Based in Bévilard and drawing on the 110 years of experience of the Azurea Group, Azurea Microtechnique co-develops and machines ready-to-use components and sub-assemblies for OEM customers. Its capabilities are based on:
  • Employees with a client-oriented technical and regulatory approach. Project management, co-design, industrialization, and continuous improvement are concepts integrated into our services.

  • An understanding of customer needs focused on guaranteeing that a function is achieved. The expertise has been developed notably around sealing and torque and force transmission.

  • Advanced metrological expertise: Through a primarily functional approach, followed by monitored process capability (Cpk/Cmk), Azurea Microtechnique then uses traditional probing measurement means, three-dimensional measuring machines, and control gauges (provided by its sister company Azurea Jauges) executed with tolerances of +/- 0.4 µm.

  • CNC machining (turning and milling) to tolerances of ±3 µm, on complex geometries, in aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and engineering plastics.

  • An ISO 5 and ISO 7 cleanroom assembly for the components most sensitive to contamination.

  • A quality culture certified to ISO 13485, and an EN 9100 certification process currently underway, to structure our processes in accordance with the standards expected by the aerospace industry.

A first concrete example: precision assembly for an inertial reference unit

Presented at Micronora 2026, this project illustrates our ability to meet the requirements of the most critical aerospace applications.

This rigor is also concretely illustrated in an inertial unit project. The delivered assembly combines a machined and rolled axis to ±1 micron which integrates two bearings made of Arcap composed of 2 synthetic rubies.

In addition, the assembly undergoes an extremely precise oiling process. This guarantees minimal friction and controlled wear over time. Thus, the instrument's reliability is preserved throughout its lifespan. This type of assembly perfectly illustrates our expertise. Indeed, we combine micrometric machining with high tribological performance materials.

Furthermore, we master very high-precision assembly techniques. Thanks to this approach, we meet the requirements of the most critical functions.

A second use case: the machining of complex geometry

When a component has more than 40 inspection criteria and its geometry requires 20 cutting tools for machining, it can be described as complex!

Our engineering capability backed by our technical office, our integrated quality system, our production and metrology equipment constitute a set of skills and expertise suited to this type of component.
